Spiritual Motherhood of Priests

Thursdays, Rosary after 8 am Mass

Mission Statement

The mission of the Spiritual Motherhood of Priests Apostolate is the spiritual adoption of Priest-sons by women who, following the example of and united with the Blessed Mother Mary, we pray for our Priest-sons daily, offer a weekly Hour of Adoration for them, meet weekly with other members of the Apostolate to pray a Rosary of Intercession for all of our priests, receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation frequently, and support and encourage them.

The women, inspired by their love of God, the Church, and the Priesthood, offer their prayer lives for the sanctification of Priests, uniting themselves with the Blessed Virgin Mother by spiritually adopting a Priest-son. At the core of the program is Our Blessed Mother, whose example of obedience, humility, patience and love we seek to imitate.

Though we are all made in the image and likeness of God, our ministerial priests are our visible ambassadors who carry within themselves the difficult task of ministering “in persona Christi” when they celebrate the sacraments. The Sacred Priesthood is essential to our faith, for it is our priests who administer the Sacraments that sustain us as Catholics. Through the Sacraments, priests are God’s representatives on Earth, the true living presence of Christ among us. Though they are humans in the earthly world, priests have overwhelming responsibilities. Through prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, and sacrifices, we join ourselves spiritually to their adopted Priest-sons to support their vocation and ultimately to serve God and His Kingdom. Participation as spiritual mothers is a gift of the Holy Spirit and Our Blessed Mother.
