Faith Formation
K5 Faith Formation
Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade
Weekly Classes (August-May)
Sunday 9:00 am - 10:15 am or Wednesday 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm
St. Thomas Aquinas K5 Faith Formation provides religious education for children in kindergarten through 5th grade who are not enrolled in Catholic schools. Students attend either Sunday morning sessions from 9:00 am to 10:15 am or Wednesday evening sessions from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm. We have two catechists for each class who are background-screened and Safe Environment trained.
We use Our Sunday Visitor's Alive in Christ curriculum materials and our classes often incorporate a variety of activities and strategies that may not be found in traditional classrooms. A typical year will include experiences to help children develop a lively faith: FallO-Ween Jesus and Super Saints Celebration; All Saints Procession at Mass for All Saints Day; Christmas Pageant and Christmas Celebration (2023 ~ Las Posadas; 2024 ~ Christmas Around the World); Ash Wednesday to begin Lent; K5 Leads the Stations of the Cross; First Reconciliation and First Communion; and class activities such as scavenger hunts, Gospel skits, and of course Vacation Bible School.
