Catholic Daughters of the Americas

Court St. Vincent de Paul # 2172

Second Tuesday of the month, 6:30 pm

Formed in 1903, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) is one of the oldest an largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas. CDA is an International organization with over 55,000 members in 1,150 courts (local chapters) in 45 states across the country and in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.

Our local CDA Court was chartered in 1978 by 22 Catholic Women who were originally parishioners from Saint Vincent DePaul Church - hence the name “Court #2172, Saint Vincent DePaul”. The Court is entering it’s 48th year working through the CDA motto “Unity and Charity”, and our two-fold purpose of “Spirituality and Service,” which is the foundation of the Catholic Daughters. CDA helps women develop their spirituality ad provides avenues of service to live out that spirituality.

The Blessed Mother is our patroness, and under her guidance, members are united by their faith in Jesus Christ, in their devotion to to the church and the Holy See. Catholic Daughters worship together, pray together and help each other be the best Catholic women they can be. A shared faith, love of God and a distinctly feminine spirituality alluded to by Pope Saint John Paul II, when he spoke of the necessity of ‘feminine genius’ in today’s world.

Robustly charitable, members give their time, energy, stewardship, hearts and finances to help others in the service of Christ, utilizing the CDA “Circle of Love’.

CDA Court 2172 hosted biennial conference on Human Trafficking Awareness in 2024, with a return in 2026. They also generated over $10,000 for hurricane victims in Pasco County. Their annual Saint Patrick Day Luncheon is a favorite for parishioners and the community in March each year. Some of the other local charities that they support includes our STA Saint Vincent DePaul pantry; Life Teen, the West Pasco Pregnancy Center, the Pasco County Family Homeless Shelter and the Women’s Shelter; STA Seminarian Michael Santos and the Annual Christmas ‘Box of Joy.’

Court Saint Vincent DePaul #2172, meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm from September through May.  They host an summer member retreat each year that is capped off with Mass in the early evening.
