Faith Formation
K5 FF Catechists and Aides
A catechist is a volunteer who teaches and shares the Catholic faith with children, youth, or adults in a faith formation program. They prepare and lead weekly formation classes, share personal experiences of faith and guide students through the pillars of the Catholic Church, including scripture, sacraments, and prayer. A catechist aide assists the catechist in the classroom with classroom management, individual support for children and activity assistance. Catechists and aides must pass a Level II Background Screening and take Safe Environment instruction provided by the Diocese.
