Deacon Jose Solorzano
Jose was born in October 28 1951, in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador. He studied with the Salesians through High School, and earned an AA Degree from the New York Technical College. Married to Ana for 32 years, they have 2 children, Claudia and Jose Jr., and two grandchildren from her daughter, Ana Elizabeth and Francisco Javier.
The Solórzanos moved from El Salvador to New York the spring of 1977, and lived in Queens for 11 years, where they were very active members of the Christian Family Movement, acting as Presidents of the Brooklyn-Queens Chapter in 1985, and National Secretary couple in 1986.
In 1987 they moved from New York to Hollywood, Florida, and joined the St. Stephen’s Catholic Church parish, working in different ministries of the parish: CCD teachers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, Social Justice. Jose and Ana founded the Family Ministry. Jose rediscovered his vocation and was accepted in the Archdiocese of Miami Deaconate Program in 1989. He studied at St. John Vianny and St. Vincent de Paul Seminary, was ordained as Permanent Deacon in 1992. He was assigned to St. Stephen's Catholic Church, where he served for 13 years.
Due to job relocation, Jose moved to New Port Richey in 2005, and was assigned to St. Thomas Aquinas parish in April 2006. Deacon Jose and Ana will be working with our Young Families Group and with marriage preparation. We are blessed to have them in our parish family!
